NC Landscape Contractor Examination


You need to pass the NC Landscape contractor examination to become a NC Registered Landscape Contractor.

The examination consists in fact of three exams, which you must pass all in order to become a NC Registered Landscape Contractor.

The first of the three is the Landscape Design Exam.

The NC Landscape Contractors' Registration Board administers this exam.

The examination consists of 35-40 multiple choice questions on interpreting a landscape plan.

The next one is the Multiple Choice Exam.

The NC Landscape Contractors' Registration Board administers this exam.

The examination consists of 200 general landscaping questions in multiple choice format.

The questions, in fact, are taken from the NC Landscape Contractors' Study Guide.

The Study Guide is available from the North Carolina Registration Board office (for a fee).

Finally, you have to pass the Plant ID Exam.

This is the Plant ID portion of the NC Certified Plant Professional exam administered by the NC Nursery and Landscape Association.
