Asphalt Shingle Roofing Information

Some of the best sources for asphalt shingle roofing information are industry associations of ARMA, NRCA, and the CASMA of Canada.

Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association
www.asphaltroofing.org

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association is the biggest asphalt roofing association in North America, and a wealth of a resource for related information.

In fact, their website has a section called 'All About Roofing', handling frequently asked questions, a section for asking questions from experts, and pictures of different types of asphalt roofing solutions.

If you have a specific topic in mind about asphalt roofing, you should do a site search (top right hand corner box) to find the range of articles available at the site for that issue.

National Roofing Contractors Association
www.nrca.net/consumer/types/asphalt.aspx

NRCA has been around since their inception in 1886, and is today one of the biggest professional roofing contractor associations worldwide.

The association provides good information on asphalt roofing, roof decks, and waterproofing, among other things.

They have a specific section for 'Consumer Information', which contains important information that should help you make informed decisions about getting, maintaining, or replacing an asphalt roof system.

Canadian Asphalt Shingle Manufacturers' Association
www.casma.ca

As it happens, there is information on the CASMA website in both english and french on the topic of asphalt roofing, made from a canadian perspective.

Most of the information is available under the section for 'Technical Bulletins', which contains information on such topics as re-roofing, wind protection of asphalt shingle roofs, and severe icing of asphalt shingle roofs.
